Private Lessons

We offer private music lessons in most instruments for ages 6 to adult. Lessons are one-on-one and occur weekly.

Private lessons available: piano, voice, guitar, ukulele, strings (cello), percussion, conducting, organ, and trumpet

If you do not see the instrument or specialty you'd like to learn, send us a message at coa@vhumc.org and we will find a teacher for you! For instrumental lessons, please be sure your student has an instrument to practice with regularly.

Private lessons are available at the following lengths:

30 minutes ($37/lesson)

45 minutes ($51/lesson)

60 minutes ($65/lesson).

Registration is for a semester of 15 lessons in the fall or 17 lessons in the spring.

Most of our lessons occur in the "after school" hours Monday through Thursday, but arrangements can often be made if you'd like an earlier time of day for your lesson.

KIDS-N-KEYS: Pre-School Piano Readiness Class

Tuesdays at 3:00-3:50 | $18/week

Students must have turned 4 or 5 by September 1, 2023 to join this class.

For those whose children have shown interest in piano but are not yet old enough for private instruction, we introduce a new, developmentally appropriate piano prep class for preschoolers! In small classes of 3 or 4, children will learn about gross and fine motor skills as they are applied to the piano through movement, games, and keyboard application. Children will also learn auditory skills--high, low, fast, slow, loud, and quiet--and how they relate to the piano. Since this class is in preparation for private lessons, your child will learn some very simple songs and games to begin strengthening little fingers, so that when they are a little older, they will be ready for private lessons.
